Measurement and return on investment are important to our clients, our agencies and us. We applaud the BBM/Nielsen media measurement joint venture which operation on September 1st 2006.

This concentrated investment allows us to focus on improved qualitative and quantitative measurement. As a member owned non-profit, tri-partite, BBM Canada reflects the needs of all of its constituents – advertisers, agencies and broadcasters. Provides measurement capabilities for all Canwest television markets – from local to regional and national levels. BBM Canada has the rights to the Personal Portable Passive Meter (PPM). This technology already in use in franco Montreal and Quebec, will provide us with greater connectivity to our consumers viewing and listening habits and it will drive down meter costs, further facilitating increased sample sizes and expansion of metered services to additional markets.

We believe this joint venture will enhance Canadian television audience measurement and focus efforts on a singular source for audience reporting.
