Canwest Mediaworks UK Ltd. owns and operates three radio stations in Great Britain. In September 2005, Canwest became the first foreign non-European media company to be awarded a broadcast license in the United Kingdom. Original 106 broadcasts to Solent region of the U.K., and officially went on air October 1, 2006. In May 2007, Canwest launched its second UK radio station, Original 106.5fm in Bristol. Most recently a third radio station was added, Original FM in Aberdeen Scotland. Canwest Mediaworks UK Ltd plans to launch a national digital radio service in the UK mid-year 2008.
The Original-branded stations play an album-led mix of music from a wide range of artists, targeting listeners in the 40-59 year-old demographic.

Turkish Radio
In September, 2005, Canwest and its Turkish partner, Turkcom Iletisim Hizmetleri A.S. (Turkcom) began the acquisition of several media properties during an auction conducted by The Turkish Savings and Deposit Insurance Fund. In February, 2006, Canwest and its Turkish partners completed the acquisition bringing a total of four FM radio operations; Super FM, Metro FM, Joy FM and Joy Turk FM, into the Canwest asset group.

Super FM is a top-40, popular local music station, which also broadcasts local news coverage. The station's reach extends to approximately 45% of the Turkish population, including to listeners in the major cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. With an estimated 31.5 million people in its youthful 15 to 30 year old target demographic living within its broadcasting range, Super FM currently has an average audience share of 12.9%, one of the highest shares in the industry, and has considerable potential for future growth.

Metro FM is Turkey's most popular national radio station broadcasting in the English-language popular music genre. Metro FM's English-language music programming appeals to a young affluent urban audience and also to visiting tourists; audiences with high disposable income that are of great interest to advertisers. Metro FM's 4.9% market share is greater than the combined market shares of the next two most popular national stations broadcasting in the same English-language music format. The station's reach extends to approximately 40% of Turkey's population -- about 28 million people.

Joy FM and Joy Turk FM serve Istanbul, Turkey's largest city (population -- 11.3 million). Joy FM broadcasts a combination of English-language pop, rhythm and blues, soft rock, jazz and Latin music, and appeals to young, upwardly mobile urban dwellers in Istanbul. Joy Turk FM broadcasts a mix of traditional Turkish music along with music that appeals to urban listeners in Istanbul as well as to rural listeners in surrounding communities.
